Village Church began with a belief at South Delta Baptist Church that the Greater Vancouver Area is waiting to hear that Jesus saves lives.
As this belief grew into a vision, Pastor Mark Clark, who had been serving as an associate pastor at South Delta Baptist Church, was elected to lead the planting of a church. The vision for this church was to partner with South Delta Baptist to see lost people saved by Jesus.
A team of sixteen people was then assembled with the intention of growing this vision into a plan. By October 2009, this team had grown into an assembly of fifty people. Out of this small assembly grew the plan to become a church that teaches the Bible, builds community around the gospel, and engages with culture in order to see people transformed into fully devoted followers of Jesus.
Village Church officially launched in January 2010, with a weekly attendance of fifty people. By September 2013, weekly attendance had grown to 2500. Standing as proof that Jesus transforms lives, Village Church is now one of the fastest growing churches in North America.
At the heart of Village Church is a passion for Jesus and a conviction that the gospel is news of hope and restoration. In everything we do, we aspire to draw attention to Jesus, teach the Bible, love all people, and affect positive change in its city.
