Village Church began as a church plant out of South Delta Baptist Church in January 2010. Pastor Mark Clark, who had been serving as an Associate Pastor at SDBC, was appointed to lead its planting.
A team of sixteen people was assembled in early 2009 to pray and plan. Out of this small launch team grew a group of fifty volunteers and a vision to be a church that teaches the Bible, builds community, and engages culture in order to see people transformed into fully devoted followers of Jesus.
Village Church officially launched in January 2010 with a weekly attendance of approximately 100 people. Less than two years later, attendance had grown to 1000 people. Now, it is at a few thousand – standing as proof that Jesus still transforms lives.
At the heart of Village Church is a passion for Jesus and a conviction that the gospel is news of hope and restoration. In everything we do, we aspire to draw attention to Jesus, teach the Bible, love people, and bring about the transformation of our city.
