skeptics forum 2011

Part of our vision as a church is to engage and welcome a skeptical culture, graciously defending the truth of Jesus and relevantly challenging existing cultural misconceptions about Christianity.
For those of you who are not followers of Jesus, who have doubts about Christianity, this is a great opportunity to see how Christianity wrestles with some of the hard questions of today. For those of us who are followers of Jesus this is a good time to engage your doubts, and strengthen your faith.

Can the Bible be taken Literally?
October 2, 2011
Mark Clark
Text: Luke 24:13-34
Many people in our culture refuse to be Christians because they don't think the Bible is credible. They think it is just a bunch of myths, stories and legends about Jesus, made up by the early church so they could get power, and start a religion. People also reject the Bible as outdated in regard to its views on cultural issues such as slavery and the oppression of women. In this message we explore why the Bible, especially the Gospels about Jesus, can be trusted historical, culturally and personally.
